Renault India launches the new Renault Kiger, a car designed for typical Indian driving conditions that offers plenty of technology and safety
Renault India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the French manufacturer, has announced the launch of the new Renault Kiger, developed following the Rethink Performance philosophy. This sub-four-meter-long SUV reinvents itself with a more innovative design, smarter on-board technologies, and improved safety.

A VERSATILE MODEL
The new Kiger has been specially designed to offer performance suited to the variety of driving conditions found in India. It features a turbocharged engine with 100 hp and 160 Nm of torque, yet still offers good fuel efficiency. The Kiger is also available in a more affordable version, with a naturally aspirated engine producing 72 hp and 96 Nm. With this engine range, the new SUV guarantees customers not only dynamic highway travel but also comfortable travel in urban environments. The range also includes a CNG (compressed natural gas) version with a manual transmission. Furthermore, both main engines are already compatible with E20 fuel , confirming Renault’s commitment to increasingly sustainable mobility solutions.
The new Renault Kiger offers a variety of transmission solutions to suit every driving style: the 5-speed manual gearbox for those who love full control, the Easy-R automatic for stress-free city driving, and the advanced X-Tronic , which ensures smooth and refined performance. The latter integrates the exclusive D-Step technology, capable of eliminating the “rubber band” effect typical of CVTs, instead offering progressive gear changes that make acceleration more responsive and the driving sensation even more natural.
Added to this is the best torque-to-weight ratio in the segment, which guarantees quick and brilliant acceleration. Performance is further enhanced by the Mirror Bore Coating technology , derived from the world of racing, which reduces friction, improves fuel consumption, increases power and contributes to the engine’s reliability.
LEVEL TECHNOLOGY
The new Renault Kiger elevates the driving experience with a refined interior, ventilated front seats, and light-colored leatherette upholstery. The quiet and comfortable cabin features rear vents and optimized airflow, while onboard technologies simplify every journey: an HD multiview camera for complete visibility when maneuvering, automatic headlights, smart windshield wipers, and an 8-inch multimedia system with Android and wireless Apple CarPlay, combined with the Arkamys 3D immersive audio system. Practical details such as a refrigerated glove compartment, USB ports, and a forgotten item alert make everyday use smarter.
TOP SEGMENT SAFETY
Built on the robust CMFA+ platform, the new Kiger raises the bar in the segment with six standard airbags and 21 safety features, including ESP, traction control, hill start assist, three-point seat belts, and Isofix. These are complemented by tire pressure monitoring, pedestrian protection, and a multi-view camera, for comprehensive protection and a worry-free drive.
