Google Assistant Gives Way to Gemini on Android Auto
Android Auto will no longer have Google Assistant as Gemini prepares to take over. This change seems to have started in Mountain View in the fall. We first caught the glimpse of the change in the code base during fall last year followed by more edits in January. Now, Android Auto appears to be further along. The Android Authority portal has recently gotten its hands on the AI assistant and even interacted with it, and they confirmed that it has “Gemini Live” which is a conversational mode. All of this development is captured in a demonstration video which hints our future with AI assistance is about to change on mobile devices. With Gemini’s coming is the promise of better and smarter interaction on Android Auto.
