At just 39 years old, Trachtenberg was found dead in February, having recently undergone a liver transplant. The exact cause of her death remained unclear at that time, according to NBC News. She began her career at the tender age of three, quickly rising to fame with her roles in commercials, and later on Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete and the soap opera All My Children. Her first leading role in a film came in 1996 with Harriet the Spy, where she starred alongside Rosie O’Donnell and J Smith-Cameron. In a 2021 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Trachtenberg expressed her gratitude for the opportunities she had, saying, “There was a lot required of me … I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity.” Trachtenberg also appeared in the teen comedy EuroTrip and the critically acclaimed drama Mysterious Skin, directed by Gregg Araki. Reflecting on her role in Mysterious Skin, she shared, “I was this girl who had done glitzy, PG-themed stuff and here’s Gregg Araki, director of Doom Generation. We sat down for coffee, and I said: ‘You’re probably not gonna hire me, but this is what I got, this is what I feel. If you’re willing to take the chance, I’m willing to go there with you.’ It was the most exhilarating experience I’ve had as an actress.” After her passing, many of her co-stars paid tribute to her. Blake Lively, her Gossip Girl co-star, wrote: “She was electricity … You knew when she entered a room because the vibration changed. Everything she did, she did 200%.” Smith-Cameron also shared her thoughts, saying, “She was always very warm toward me.
