Weight and Design of Mercedes CLA.
With a 2,790 mm wheelbase, the new Mercedes CLA is 4,723 mm long, 1,855 mm wide, and 1,468 mm tall. With a 101liter front compartment and a 405liter rear trunk, cargo capacity perfect for stashing charging cables is available.
Development depended much on aerodynamics, which produced a drag coefficient of only 0.21. With a stylish sedancoupé profile that raises efficiency, the design mirrors the idea unveiled at the 2023 Munich Motor Show.
With an illuminated Mercedes emblem and a glossy black grille with 142 animated LED stars, the electric version shines in this respect. Seen in earlier prototypes, thin headlights highlight the new starshaped light signature of the brand. An open grille is used on the hybrid model for engine cooling, which sets it apart. To finish the modern appearance, fullwidth taillights run at the back.
Smart Navigation & AI Integration of Mercedes CLA.
While Google Maps is great for navigation, the real game-changer is the integration of AI. The latest software platform features ChatGPT 4.0 and Google Gemini, which really boosts user interaction. Thanks to Google Gemini, the virtual assistant can offer in-depth navigation insights, tapping into real-time data from Google Maps to answer your questions about routes, traffic, and nearby attractions. For general web searches, it turns to Microsoft Bing for support. The MBUX assistant takes center stage on the Zero Layer interface, showing up as a lively animated Mercedes star. It’s even capable of recognizing emotions during chats and responding in a way that makes the whole experience feel more intuitive and engaging.
Range, Battery & Powertrain
Debuting first as an electric model, the new Mercedes CLA will come two versions: a singlemotor edition and a dualmotor, allwheeldrive option. Both include an 85 kWh battery. Later will come a less expensive entrylevel version with a 58 kWh LFP battery.
Included in the lineup are the CLA 250+ and CLA 350 4MATIC. With 200 kilowatts (268 horsepower) and 335 Nm of torque, the CLA 250+ tops 210 km/h and goes from stationary to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
One of the main points of emphasis is efficiency. Highlighting sophisticated aerodynamics and energy administration, Mercedes touts an amazing WLTP range of 694–792 km.
CLA 350 4MATIC: Increased Power, Identical Efficiency
With 260 kW (349 hp) and 515 Nm of torque, the CLA 350 4MATIC rises several paces. When it is necessary to achieve best results, the second engine is set off. With a top speed of 210 km/h and a 0100 km/h time of 4.9 seconds, performance is still great. 672–771 km is the WLTP spectrum.
Fast Charging & Regenerative Decline
Based on the MMA system with an 800V design, the CLA offers ultrafast charging. Mercedes says their maximum DC charging power is 320 kW, which will enable a 1080% charge in only 22 minutes. 11 kW can be reached with AC charging. Further increasing efficiency, the regenerative braking system could recover up to 200 kW.
Hybrid Edition Available Shortly !
Driven by a 1.5L turbocharged four cylinder motor, a light hybrid version will follow. Like Stellates technology, this enables electric mode short trips. To go with a new small lightspeed dual clutch transmission (8FeDCT), options include 100 kW, 120 kW, or 140 kW. A 1.3 kWh battery drives a 20 kW electric motor inside the transmission.
