Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 confirmed: there will also be a Classic model

It now seems confirmed that with the next generation of Samsung smartwatches , the Classic model will return to fashion , which skipped the current range (in the opening photo there is the model of the even previous generation ): this is revealed by the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interests Group) database, which collects all the official and certified devices compatible with short-range wireless communication technology. The smartwatch has the model code SM-L505U, and the full and official name is Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.

The model code had already leaked in the past few weeks – in particular it had been spotted in South Korea on a battery certification database, but it had not been concretely associated with any commercial name. Unfortunately, the Bluetooth SIG certification does not reveal anything at all about the device itself, but it is worth noting that another smartwatch, the SM-L500, had also been spotted in Korea, which could be a “close relative”.

First of all, it is important to remember that according to Samsung’s nomenclature , the final letter, where present, simply indicates the geographic area of destination; the “U” in particular refers to the United States. Another Samsung convention is to distance smartwatches with only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity by 5 units from those with an LTE modem as well. Typically, models without a cellular modem are the “00”, while the 4G ones are the “05”.

Once you’ve made these considerations and calculated the codes that have emerged, it becomes clear that the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will indeed be offered with both connectivity options . However, it is interesting to note that a “+10” code has not emerged, which could indicate that it will arrive with just one case size instead of two, like the “regular” Galaxy Watch 8. If that were the case, we would also have spotted a device with the code SM-L510 (and of course L515 for the LTE variant). Of course, we can’t rule out that this code has simply remained hidden for now, but it seems unlikely to us.
