The First Spy Photos of the New Alfa Romeo Stelios SUV have been Spotted

The second-gen Alfa Romeo Stelios SUV is set to be tested in Northern Europe later this year, and is expected to go on sale in early 2026. Spy photographers were recently able to capture images of the heavily camouflaged prototype during winter testing in Sweden.

An Upgrade or a New Alfa Romeo Stelios SUV?

The new Stelvio looks like it will take more than just the existing model to make its silhouette. This new vehicle will be built on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform, which supports a hybrid and fully electric powertrain. Santo Ficili, CEO at Alfa Romeo, stated not too long ago that the SUV would be expected to come out in 2025, making it the first electrified SUV model produced by the company.

The design parts which are not covered by camouflage reveal some branding features. For example, the iconic Alfa Romeo shield on the front grille. The top of the headlights seems split like on the newer model Junior, leading us to believe that the SUV is longer than its predecessor due to the apparent extended wheelbase. Other notable features include a full-width light bar paired a roof-mounted spoiler at the rear.

Advanced Technology along with powertrains

A hybrid, electric and also a quad capabile powertrain up to 1000 hp will be offered in the new Stelvio version. They have not confirmed anything just yet, but it has been confirmed fans will have access to single or dual motor set ups.

An estimated 800 km range on sedans is attainable due to the STLA larghe platform supporting a battery capcacity of 85 to 118 kwh. Ultra fast charging for the SUV is possible because of the 800V architecture.

The New Stelvio will feature the STLA Brain Zor electronic system which provides advanced driver assistance and over the air updates. Spy images are also suggesting the infotainment display might be larger which would greatly enhance the driving experience.

As the launch gets closer, more information will be released. Mark your calendars for the new Alfa Romeo STLA SUV.
